HFF Receives 19 Grant Applications

Natural resource professionals from Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky submitted a total of nineteen applications for grant funding by the recent August 7, 2009 application deadline. The applicants seek financial help for establishing and improving hardwood forests on public land. Many of the applications have strong demonstration and educational elements. The grant applications describe critical need for a wide variety of forest management techniques including site preparation, seedling purchase, planting, direct seeding, competition control, fencing, and TSI (timber stand improvement). The HFF Board will decide which projects to fund at the upcoming fall Board of Directors meeting. Financial support fromĀ forest products industry, individuals, and other funding sources enables the HFF to fund projects. Please donate generously.

The Hardwood Forestry Fund is a 501 (c) (3) educational foundation that establishes sustainable forests for future generations' natural resource needs. Contributions are tax-deductible.
