Project Description: Provide a short narrative including site history, site description, site productivity, and site preparation requirements.

Does the target site experience regeneration problems? If so, please explain. If the problem is deer browse, what steps will your organization undertake to protect young trees and to maximize hardwood survival and height growth?

Is this site a failed planting? If so, why did the planting fail? Has this site been previously planted with Hardwood Forestry Fund grant funds?

Environmental Education Opportunities: Include number of volunteers (students, private landowners, and others) expected to visit the site each year

Describe Sign: Sign recognizing planting date, management objectives, harvest date, and project partners is required. Include costs for sign(s) in your grant request amount.

Management Plan including Estimated Harvest and Regeneration Schedules:
Are you requesting funding for weed control for this project? If so, please describe the frequency, method, and/or product you plan to use. If weed control is needed, include funding request for mowing and /or weed control in this application and not as a separate request in future years.

Seedling Survival: How will your organization address stocking if survival after the second year is less than 50%?

Will this project be initiated if funding from the Hardwood Forestry Fund is unavailable?

Amount of Funding Requested (breakdown): Include costs of site prep, seedling purchase, planting labor, durable sign, etc. Total funding requests should not exceed $1 per seedling.
