FOCUS
The Hardwood Forestry Fund is a 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated
to establishing sustainable hardwood forests. Since 1990, Hardwood Forestry
Fund members have joined together to celebrate and conserve the beauty
and sustainability of hardwoods. Through tree planting on public land,
the Hardwood Forestry Fund promotes hardwood timber growth, management,
environmental education, and wise use of our nation's renewable forest
resources. Trees planted by the Hardwood Forestry Fund require a management
plan that ensures they will be cared for to provide quality natural resources
for future generations. Educational and demonstration forests help teach
school children and private landowners how to establish and be good stewards
of hardwood forests.
With the help if its members, the Hardwood Forestry Fund provides grants
to public natural resource partners (like state foresters) to plant and
manage hardwood forests. The Hardwood Forestry Fund plants quality hardwood
species on productive sites. Planting a mixture of hardwood species mimics
nature and creates a diverse forest that supports a variety of plant and
animal life. With project partners, the Hardwood Forestry Fund plants
on selective sites like open farmland and areas destroyed by wildfire.
Trees are the Earth's renewable resource. If you appreciate
the natural beauty, warmth,
and durability of wood, you can help establish forests for future generation's
natural
resource needs. Join the Hardwood Forestry Fund. Contributions to the
Hardwood Forestry Fund are tax-deductible.
