HISTORY
Environmentally concerned members of the Hardwood Plywood & Veneer
Association created the Hardwood Forestry Fund in 1990. These individuals
wanted to replace hardwood trees used to manufacture consumer products
like hardwood flooring, plywood, furniture, and decorative accessories.
Since 1990, membership has grown to include many segments of the forest
products industry, as well as environmentally concerned individuals, and
foundations. The Hardwood Forestry Fund has planted more than 2.5 million
trees in 22 U.S. states and four foreign countries. Planting projects
require a management plan, harvest, and regeneration schedule. That way,
we know the trees are cared for to provide future generations with healthy
available resources.
